The Washington Post, claiming that filibuster reform is dead:
Many senior Democrats, who have watched the majority flip back and forth a half-dozen times in the past 20 years, balked at taking away minority rights, out of fear that Democrats could soon find themselves in the minority.
I have to wonder why those senior Democrats believe that this Congress can constrain a future Republican majority anymore than the current Congress is constrained by the rules written in 1975.
The filibuster is going away. The only question is whether it will go away in time for the Democrats to accomplish anything worthwhile.
